AC Environmental have recently completed a standby power project in Stoke on Trent.

The site, a former factory, was undergoing a major refurbishment and change of use to become a large call centre. Despite a dedicated HV connection, the grid connection was of concern and a number of power outages during construction outlined the need for separate power provision.

We were retained to advise the main contractor on standby power and also supplied and installed a 100kVA diesel generator in an external location. A UPS system was also installed which can provide 20 minutes of power to the site enabling a smooth transition from grid to island mode in every situation.
