Welcoming Connor Harvey to the team

AC Environmental welcomes Connor Harvey as our new Graduate Trainee Environmental Consultant. Joining our planning and permitting team, Connor brings a First-Class degree in Environment & Business from the University of Leeds, teaching experience and a strong interest in practical environmental compliance.

Supporting our planning and permitting team

Connor will work closely with David Alcock – Senior Environmental Consultant, Leisl Heath and Sam Davies within the planning and permitting team.

His day-to-day work will involve preparing Fire Prevention Plans and Environmental Management Systems, progressing towards preparing and submitting environmental permit and planning applications.

The role will give him the opportunity to develop his technical skills while contributing to the team’s work.

A background in environmental regulation and clear communication

Connor graduated from the University of Leeds in 2024 with First-Class Honours in Environment & Business. His studies included environmental law and regulation, with a particular interest in how regulatory requirements translate into practice.

During his degree, he worked on client-based consultancy projects, researching environmental issues and presenting practical recommendations. He also completed a sustainability placement with renewable energy developer and investor Low Carbon, investigating how extreme heat could affect solar assets.

Before joining AC Environmental, Connor spent two years as a secondary school teacher, teaching Geography, Business Studies, History and RE. That experience strengthened his ability to explain complex subjects clearly, manage challenging conversations and build relationships with students and parents, skills he now hopes to apply in consultancy.

As Connor explains:

His university studies prompted an interest in the gap between what environmental regulation says on paper and what happens in practice. He wanted to join a business focused on helping clients put compliance into action.

Connor is also looking forward to building relationships with clients and bringing a personal approach to the work he does for them.
